善蓮堂

在觀音佛祖的引领下，善蓮堂于1988 年农历九月初九日正式开坛，为善众指点迷津，普渡终生。
在这期间，善蓮堂从义顺，万里，兀兰到三巴旺等等，先后一共搬迁九次，并于2005年12月21日正式迁入海军部街。当时的善蓮堂只是在土地上搭起一个简陋的临时佛堂，里面供奉着佛祖和众神的金身。 善蓮堂与2006年10月26日奠基，并在10个月后落成，占地2万尺，包括寺庙和寺外广场，和花园。善蓮堂楼高五层，分别为一楼的慈悲殿，二楼的功德堂，三楼除了眾神殿外还为济公活佛而设的酒台，四楼办公室和顶楼的玉皇殿，庄严中不失去一派祥和瑞气。 2008年农历八月十五日，善蓮堂举行诸佛升座开光大典，处处张灯结彩，一片欢腾。2008年10月1日（九月初三）的开幕盛会，也邀请了国会议员林伟杰医生，李玉云律师等多位贵宾参与盛会，与济公活佛一同主持揭碑仪式。整个农历九月，善蓮堂都举办各种庆祝活动，传统的酬神大戏上演了整个月，还重金礼聘中国知名的紫凤鸣乐十二女子乐团到场助兴。 |
San Lian Deng

Under the guidance of Guan Yin Bodhisattva, San Lian Deng Temple was officially opened on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month in 1988.
During this period, San Lian Deng Temple had relocated from Yishun, Mandai, Woodlands and Sembawang, a total of 9 times, the temple finally resided at Admiralty Street, its current address on December 12, 2005. On October 26, 2006, San Lian Deng Temple held its groundbreaking ceremony. The construction progressed smoothly and it was completed after 10 months. The five-storey white building stands proudly on the land, exuding an air of tranquillity befitting of a monastic premises despite its grand construction. The halls on each storey are decorated with elegant solemnity, inspiring a feeling of awe. There is also a wine altar specifically dedicated to Jigong the Living Buddha. On the 15th day of the eight Lunar month in 2008, San Lian Deng Temple held a major celebration. There was great jubilation throughout with decorations of lanterns and coloured streamers everywhere. On October 1, 2008, which was the opening celebration, Members of Parliament, Dr Lim Wee Kiak and Atty Ellen Lee, were among the many special guests who presided a the ceremony together with Jigong the Living Buddha. For the whole of the ninth lunar month, San Lian Deng Temple held several celebratory activities – a traditional Chinese Opera went on for a whole month as a thanksgiving and China’s renowned Zi Feng Ming Yue 12-women orchestra also came to play for the celebration. |
